Spinach pasta

 Sauté onion&celeryin butter add sliced Italian sausage and brown  Add 1can stewed tomato untrained  1can diced tomatoes in basil undrained 1can garbanzo beans drained  1small can mixed veggies untrained  Simmer covered 5 minutes  Add precooked pasta and 2 handfuls of spinach add 1beef bullion cover until spinach is wilted 

Italian bread pizza kid friendly

 Look I’m assuming everyone is starting from zero here as far as skills and knowledge go I am by no means a chef, I don’t have any formal training just what my mom taught me   I’m talking basic feed yourself and family recipes  Ingredients: 1italian loaf cut lengthwise  1can or jar of pizza sauce (not marinara or spaghetti sauce ) 1bag approx 2cupspizza cheese or mozzarella  Oregano  Toppings  Instructions: this is a great one to do with the kids, it’s easy &clean Let them pour the cheese into a prep bowl or spread the sauce  Spread sauce by spoonful on each bread half  Sprinkle cheese (good kid part) Add toppings of choice  Bake at350(your melting cheese,not baking a turkey) for about 10 mins or cheese is melted  Serve with  Mac and cheese

Beef gravy

 This is a meal we ate often in my childhood and it happens to be my favorite, my son George 7 loves it too. Guys like it because it’s meaty  I can make it in under a half hour  kid friendly too Ingredients: 1lb. Ground beef 3beef bullion cubes or1packet of Lipton beefy onion dry soup mix  1tsp cornstarch  1cup water 1/4 cup water  Instructions: Brown beef in a skillet (fry pan) Drain grease(use a table spoon to scoop grease into a small cup or dish)  Add 1cup water  bullion cubes or soup mix,simmer,covered on medium this will give the meat a finer texture  Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water mix well or your gravy will be lumpy  add to beef stir  well and often  Serve with:   White rice or mashed potatoes  Corn & crescent rolls 

The importance of home economics

 I learned to cook from my mom, not everyone has that opportunity which is why cooking is an essential life skill that should be taught in high school I still remember Mrs. Sennot teaching me how to cook scrambled eggs! Yes there were boys in my class, everyone needs to know how to make dinner I have 3 sons and my goal in raising them is that each can cook  for themselves but also for a partner one day dad can cook too! How do you get kids to eat healthy well rounded meals?I have no clue. My son Charles favorite meal is chicken strips with Mac n cheese fed is most important  my purpose with this blog is to share basic quick &easy recipes to make for your family  I’ve personally eaten each and personally made each  This is not the art of French cooking; this is the art of feeding a family! Classic meatloaf

 Ingredients: 1lb ground beef  1pk dry onion soup  1egg 2tbl A1sauce 2tbl Worcestershire sauce  1cup Italian breadcrumbs  1tsp minced garlic  Instructions: Toss all ingredients into a stand mixer(you can use a hand mixer if you don’t have a kitchenade mixing thoroughly is key to successful flavors  Form into a loaf in a baking dish sprinkle with Lowry seasoned salt Bake@375one hour or until 165 degrees (buy a meat thermometer it’s a must for home cooks) Serve with: Can of mixed vegetables heat2mins in microwave  Mashed potatoes (I use instant, I’m busy)  And can of beef gravy
